Two Legacy Players to Represent the VCCL at the 2007 Dallas Cup

McInnich and Randolph Depart for Texas

Williamsburg, VA (March 19, 2007)  -  Every year the Virginia Club Champions League (VCCL) puts together a group of select players to represent the league at the Dallas Cup held in Texas. Abbi McInnich and Libby Randolph are the two privileged girls from the Virginia Legacy to be selected to represent their club as well as the VCCL.

This year the Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is proud to have two of its own on the VCCL Select Team to participate in one of the most competitive tournaments of the year in North America. Teams from all over the globe meet every year in Texas to compete against some of the top teams and players around.

Abbi and Libby, both members of the VLSC U15 Phoenix team have impressed coaches from around the league to be selected to this premier team. The team consists of        the top players in the VCCL and is hand picked by the Directors of Coaching from throughout the league.  “They are a pleasure to coach and will represent our club well in Dallas.  Libby and Abbi put a lot of time into training with the club, ODP as well as on individual techniques and fitness.  My hopes are that over time, more players in the Legacy club will follow their lead and put out the time and effort to meet their full potential.  The Dallas Cup is a big deal and this is a well deserved honor for Libby and Abbi – Congratulations,” says Kevin Darcy, VLSC Director of Coaching.

The Dallas Cup kicks off its first day of fixtures on April 1, with the girls playing their first match on Monday, April 2. They will have one game each on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with the playoff round starting on Thursday, April 5. The tournament is a week-long event playing host to almost 200 teams.
