European Tour Auction to Highlight this Coming Weekend

Proceeds Support the U13 Boys and Girls on their Trip to Germany in March

Williamsburg, VA (February 16, 2007)  -  The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club annual auction will be held tomorrow, February 17, 2007 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at Legacy Hall in New Town.  The auction is a fundraising event hosted each year by the U13 boys and girls travel teams to help support their annual trip to Europe.  For the first time ever, this year’s group is heading to Germany and Holland.  The ten day trip allows the kids and parents to partake in a different culture through sightseeing and playing.  The teams will play against a variety of youth teams from Germany and Sweden while also going to watch professional matches.

The auction will feature a great atmosphere of music, food, drinks, and silent/live auction items for everyone’s taste.  Heavy hors devours will be provided and a cash bar will also be on hand.  There will be items for everyone’s taste and budget.  A few key items include autographed paraphernalia by soccer superstars USA’s Brandi Chastain, Holland’s Edgar Davids and UNC women’s head coach Anson Dorrance.  Sailing excursions, golf packages, Orlando vacations, spa packages, limited addition artwork, dinner for 10 to the BoneFish Grill, and a multitude of gift certificates to top restaurants in the area will also be up for bid.  The silent auction is from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and the live items will take place from 8:00 – 9:00. "In all aspects, the European Tour is a tremendous experience for our players. The tour not only impacts their perception of the game, but it also effects their outlook on life. The auction is a great way the entire club can support the kids and this endeavor, " said Jeff Dominguez, VLSC Executive Director.
