Burleson and Scruggs Commit to College Programs
More Legacy Players Continuing their Playing Career
Williamsburg, VA (March 1, 2007) - As high school seniors see next fall approach faster and faster, the Virginia Legacy continues to have players further their playing careers on the collegiate level.
Matthew Burleson, a member of our U18 Wizards, recently committed to attend Barton College in Wilson, NC to carry on his playing days. Matthew is a senior at Menchville High School and was a 2nd Team All-District player in 2005. Barton College, where he will be attending next fall, is a NCAA Division II school that competes in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference against teams such as Limestone, Mt. Olive, and Belmont Abbey.
Mike Scruggs, also a member of the U18 Wizards will be attending West Virginia Wesleyan College next fall on a hefty athletic scholarship. Mike will join the Bobcats after a successful youth career, being named to the Virginia All-State Team in 2006. West Virginia Wesleyan is also a Division II program that finished its 2006 campaign ranked 6th in the Appalachian Region by the NSCAA. Mike will be competing against top level players as the Bobcats compete for the NCAA tournament year after year.

About the Virginia Legacy Soccer Club
The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is a 501-C3 non-profit organization
based out of Williamsburg, Virginia. Legacy Soccer offers some of
the top facilities in southeastern Virginia including the
Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex (WISC) and the Warhill Sports
Complex. The Virginia Legacy, a USL Premier Development Team, is
at the top of the Legacy Soccer tier. The club offers a variety of
playing level options, cost packages, and opportunities. Legacy
Soccer aims to pioneer, develop, and continuously be on the cutting
edge of youth soccer in the area and country.
