The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club Announces the Legacy Apprentice Program

Program will be Open to All Players in the U10-U14 Age Groups

Williamsburg, VA (January 30, 2007) - The Virginia Legacy is continuing to build off of its Legacy PDL franchise by getting its youth travel players involved.

This one of a kind program will serve as a mentorship to our younger Legacy travel players. All players who sign up for the program will be designated a senior team PDL team member who they will be in close relationship with over the eight week summer program. Each player will train once a week with their specific player either in a one-on-one or small group setting. Players will also be an intricate part in the game-day operations and activities. Players will be able to warm-up with their player before each home game and walk-out with the team prior to the game. “It is the goal of the Virginia Legacy to make a community name out of the PDL team and this is a great opportunity to involve our youth players in that process. I think the kids will really appreciate interacting with all of the guys and feeling like they are part of the team,” says Dan Lader, Director of Player Development.

In addition to the training and game day activities, players will receive a Nike Legacy jersey with their player’s name on the back. During select games, all players in the Apprentice group will be on the sideline with the team and then participate in a halftime feature game.
