Overview

The Virginia Legacy Soccer School Program is one of a kind in the Hampton Roads area. With camps in varying locations and of all different skill levels, the Legacy soccer schools provides a great experience for boys and girls of all ages in the region. The Legacy Soccer Schools are geared to our beginner level players, while our more advanced travel players have a variety of options in the Legacy School of Excellence. The staff of these camps come from the Virginia Legacy –PDL, which is the senior team for the Virginia Legacy Soccer Club. The squad is comprised of the best U23 and college soccer players from around the area. They compete nationally in the United Soccer Leagues and have made the playoffs 4 of the 5 years they have existed. As a special gift, all of our campers will receive a ticket to attend a Legacy home game in the summer. The players will be able to watch the same coaches who instructed them and all the campers will be honored for attending the Legacy Soccer Schools. All campers will receive a free ticket to an upcoming Legacy home game along with a Nike Virginia Legacy Soccer Schools Shirt.

Legacy Soccer Schools

The Legacy Soccer Schools are 4 or 5 day camps geared towards the campers with little to some soccer experience. They are appropriate for beginners, developmental, recreational and more experienced players alike. Boys and girls will be placed in groups based on age, but more importantly ability to that there is a good fit for each group. The camps revolve around soccer related games, activities, trainings and competitions. All participants to the camp will receive a Nike Legacy Soccer Schools shirt and 1 ticket to an upcoming Legacy PDL game.

Legacy Soccer School of Excellence

These advanced weeks of camp are geared towards travel players in the area.  Players that attend these camps must play on a travel team that is at least U9.  For these weeks of camp, high level of college coaches and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) qualified coaches are brought in to instruct the players.  Players are trained technically, tactically, physically and mentally throughout the week in a fun and demanding environment.

Legacy Soccer Breakfast Club:
For the full week of camp, each morning from 8am - 9am the Fitness staff from the WISC will hold a strength and fitness component for the camp. This portion of the camp will only be open to those players U14-U18. The cost for this great opportunity is $50 for the entire week. This training option is available for both travel camps offered and will be held onsite at the camp.

Nike Premier Club Camps
The VLSC is one of 44 Nike Premier Clubs in the entire nation. This relationship allows the Legacy to work closely with professional clubs and coaches from all over the world to bring them to Williamsburg during the summer months. In the summer of 2006 Manchester United came to Williamsburg to host a camp for the travel players and coming in 2007, the defending European Champions, FC Barcelona will be coming to town. Legacy Soccer Schools Specialty Camps

The Legacy will also offer a variety of specialty camps for the player looking for more individualized and personal training. The VLSC Soccer Schools will have camps for AP2 small group training along with camps specializing in specific positions and functional training. Striker, Midfielder and Goalkeeper camps are just a few of the specialty camps offered.

Staff

Each week the staff will comprised each of former and current college players playing for the Virginia Legacy, as well as college coaches and NSCAA licensed coaches. The director of the schools is Bobby O'Brien and the Associate Director is Dan Lader.

What to Bring
Sack lunch and beverage(full day only), plenty of water (water cooler recommended), appropriate footwear, comfortable athletic clothing, shinguards (mandatory) and sunscreen.

Camp Store
There will be balls, shinguards and backpacks for sale online and on site at registration.  Leather Nike soccer balls available in size 4 and 5 will be on sale for $25.  Shingaurds will be on sale for $5, and VLSC Soccer School drawstring backpacks will be on sale for $10.

Registration and Deadlines
Registration is available on-line at www.valegacysoccer.com.  You must fill out separate applications for each child and/or each camp.  Applications are taken up until the day before camp starts.

Insurance and Medical Assistance
All campers are covered by the VLSC Soccer Schools insurance.  Please indicate any medical instructions on your applications in the notes section.  There will be mobile phones on site in case of emergencies as well.

When To Arrive
It is important to arrive on time, preferably 10 minutes early.  There will be staff at the fields/site at least 30 minutes prior to each session and there will ALWAYS be staff members on site until the last camper leaves each day.
