Virginia Legacy set for a double header Memorial weekend
Legacy 1-1 after two matches
Williamsburg, VA (May 22, 2007) - The Virginia Legacy are back in action this Saturday against neighboring rivals, Hampton Roads Piranhas. The Piranhas sit atop the tables in the Mid-Atlantic Division and the Legacy are in a must win position to stay in the US Open Cup race. The Legacy will host the Piranhas this Saturday, May 26, at Albert/Daly field at 7:00pm.
After their game on Saturday night, the Legacy must then turn around the next morning and travel to Kirkwood, Delaware to take on the Dynasty which will then close out their US Open Cup qualifying matches. The Legacy and Dynasty kick off at 6:00pm at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex in Delaware. The Dynasty should be plenty rested after a week off following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Northern Virginia Royals.
The Virginia Legacy are looking to get back to their winning ways after they suffered their first loss of the season to the Reading Rage last Wednesday in Pennsylvania. Dan Lader was the lone goal scorer for the Legacy as they lost 2-1 in a hard fought match. The Legacy had their opportunities to tie the game up late in the match, but were never able to find the back of the net.
This Memorial weekend should prove to be a busy one for the Legacy with two games in two days, but the team is looking to use the depth of their roster to make it out of the weekend 2-0.
