BLAST SELECTS FOUR PLAYERS IN MISL AMATEUR DRAFT

In the fourth round, Baltimore chose defender Jeff Parke and midfielder Graham Albert from the College of William & Mary, with the 37th and 42nd overall picks, respectively. Parke, a two-time Philadelphia Soccer Seven All Star, tallied seven goals and five assists during his Drexel career. A sixth-round draft pick by the New York/New Jersey MetroStars in the MLS Draft, Parke recorded one goal and two assists (four points) from his defensive position last season. Graham, a Third Team College Scholar All-America selection, ranked second on the Tribe in points in his final year (five goals, four assists for 14 points) and was selected First-Team All-Colonial Athletic Association. He spent last season with the Williamsburg Legacy of the Premiere Development League (PDL), recording four goals and one assist.

 

The five-round Major Indoor Soccer League Amateur Draft was held this afternoon as part of the 2004 MISL All Star Weekend activities. The draft consisted of one territorial round and four standard rounds of selections. Draft order was based on the winning percentages of each club during its previous season of play. The Blast traded its first- and second- round picks to the San Diego Sockers in July as part of the Chile Ferias/Sean Bowers trade and obtained its second pick in the fourth round from the St. Louis Steamers as part of the Danny Santoro trade in December. The Blast selected sixth in the Territorial and third rounds and the first and sixth pick in the fourth round of the draft.
