Williamsburg
Legacy To
Host Virginia Beach
Mariners at CNU on May 9th
On
Tuesday May 9th at
7pm
the Williamsburg Legacy, of the Premier Development League (PDL),
will host the Virginia Beach Mariners of the United Soccer
Leagues (USL) First Division in a pre-season scrimmage. This will be
the fifth year in a row that the Legacy has played the professional
team. The exhibition game will be hosted by the Christopher
Newport University (CNU) Men’s soccer team at Captain’s
Field on the CNU campus. “This is a good opportunity for us to
measure where we are at during the early stage of the season,”
said Richard Butler, Head Coach of the Legacy. “It is great to
play against a pro team at any time. In the past we have played
against former MSL players. It only helps in our development as a
team and it gives the soccer supporters in the area a chance to see
a high quality game without going too far,” he continued.
Tickets
are $4 for adults, $2 for students 18 or older and $1 for all youth
players in uniform. Tickets can be obtained at the gate or by
calling 757-220-3794. Group discounts are available.
