Today Williamsburg Legacy player Gonzalo Segares was one of only three defenders named to the NCAA Division 1 College All-American team. Segares, a native of Costa Rica, has been a key member of the Legacy since the inaugural season in 2002. He has played in each of the three seasons the Legacy has been in existence as either a left back or center back for the team. He has also been a stand out player at Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to being named an All American Segares has also been invited to the Major League Soccer Combine in late January in Carson, California at the new Home Depot Center. Also representing the Legacy will be Noah Palmer who played in goal for the Legacy in 2002 and 2003. Palmer has just returned from the Home Depot Center where his Maryland Terps team was eliminated after sudden death over time in the College Cup semi finals.
