LEGACY PLAYER NAMED 2004 MISSOURI ATHLETIC CLUB MEN"S FINALIST
- Legacy player has
chance to be named top college player
The
National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced today that Gonzalo
Segares is a finalist for the Herman Trophy. He was one of
only three defenders named to the NCAA Division 1 College
All-American team. Segares, a native of Costa Rica, has been
a key member of the Legacy since the inaugural season in 2002. He
has played in each of the three seasons the Legacy has been in
existence as either a left back or center back for the team. He has
also been a stand out player at Virginia Commonwealth University.
In addition to being named an All American Segares has also
been invited to the Major League Soccer Combine in late January in
Carson, California at the new Home Depot Center.

Missouri Athletic Club Men's Finalists Announced
O'Rourke, Pore
and Segares earn invitations to St. Louis
A three-time All-Big
Ten player, a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year
and a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the
Year comprise the three finalists for the men’s 2004 Missouri
Athletic Club Hermann Trophy, the highest individual honor in
intercollegiate soccer. The finalists were determined in voting by
Division I men’s soccer coaches who are members of the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Indiana
University’s Danny O’Rourke
(Columbus, Ohio), University of Tulsa’s Ryan
Pore (Mansfield, Ohio) and Virginia Commonwealth
University’s Gonzalo Segares
(San Jose, Costa Rica) are the three finalists who will be invited
to the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005,
for a news conference which will feature the announcement of the
winner of the coveted crystal soccer ball trophy. A banquet at the
Club immediately following the announcement will feature the formal
presentation of the award to the winter
