Legacy go to Richmond this Wednesday in next PDL match

Williamsburg, VA (June 5, 2007) - On Wednesday, June 6, the Virginia Legacy (3-3-0) will travel to Richmond, VA as they take on the Richmond Kickers Future (3-1-1) at the Sports Backers Stadium. This match up will be a tough one between two fairly even teams. The Legacy is in 4th place in the Mid-Atlantic standings with nine points after six games, while the Kickers Future sits only one spot above them in 3rd place with 10 points after five games played.
Both teams are coming off must needed wins from the weekend before as the Kickers Future downed the West Virginia Chaos 3-2 on Friday night. The Legacy also came away with three points as they put away the Fredericksburg Gunners 1-0 Saturday night.
With the Legacy holding onto a 2-3 record, the team needed a win against Fredericksburg to get back to .500. With halftime approaching and no goals yet to be claimed, Dan Lader broke the deadlock in the 45th minute to put the Legacy up 1-0 going in to the half. The Legacy held on to the lead for the remainder of the game, only being pressed in the final minutes as the Gunners hit a shot off the side of the post for a goal kick. With a 1-0 victory, the Legacy improved to 3-3-0 as the Gunners are now 2-3-1.
With a two wins in the Legacy’s last three matches, the team is starting to find their groove as they head into Richmond for their seventh game of the season. Kick off for the Legacy and Kickers Future is set to for 7:00PM this Wednesday at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, VA.
