Virginia Legacy Places 7 players on Virginia State ODP Teams

Williamsburg, VA (January 18, 2007) - The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is making a huge splash in the Virginia State Olympic Development Program (ODP). The Legacy is proud to have seven different girls in the ODP State player pool. For the 1992 Girls’ team, Libbie Randolph was selected to represent our U15 Phoenix team. Abbi McIninch was also selected from our U15 Phoenix team to play in the 1993 Girls division. Taylor Green, Meredith Napolean, and Ashley Williams, all members of the U14 Phoenix, will join along with Abbi in the 1993 age bracket. Rounding out the older age group, Meredith Baldasare and Sarah Watson were chosen for the 1994 Girls’ age group.

The Virginia Legacy is extremely proud of these seven groups and the club is confident that they will represent the Legacy with great pride. This is a great opportunity for the girls, along with the club, to gain exposure at a much higher level. These girls will have the opportunity to compete with and against the best players in the country. The state teams were announced last month and the girls have been training with the team since that time. The girls will participate in their first scheduled event in Virginia Beach on February 23-25.

Congratulations again to Libbie, Abbi, Taylor, Meredith N., Ashley, Meredith B., and Sarah Watson. This will be a great opportunity to excel their game to the next level. The Virginia Legacy and the VYSA have a close relationship and hopefully we will be able to add to the number of players we feed into the ODP program. Congratulations and good luck in the future!
